Hannah and Andrew - 1st September 2018
The wedding of Hannah and Andrew took place at Carlowrie Castle near Kirkliston on 1st September 2018.
This one was unusual as I was booked to work with Hannah, Andrew and their families over the whole weekend. On Friday evening, everyone arrived at Carlowrie for a rehearsal then some down time to relax. I went along to meet everyone but also to capture some footage and get my bearings for the wedding day itself.
After meeting most of the family, I got to spend some time with the photographer, Philip Hawkins which was ideal as we were able to discuss and plan how we would both be shooting the next day. It was a beautiful evening and we were both able to get some photos and video with the Bride and Groom in the walled garden which would provide the venue for the ceremony on the Saturday.
On the Saturday, on arrival, I was blown away by the flower arrangements that met me at the front door but this was just the start. I have never seen anything like this! Wild Flowers in Edinburgh supplied the flowers including a centrepiece in the hallway which must have been over 10 foot tall.
After capturing the bridal prep, I met up with Broadwing Media who were helping us on the day with some drone filming. As always, Mikey never fails to amaze me with the quality footage he provides.
On we went to the ceremony in the walled garden and then dinner. There were some surprise visitors in the form of Hibernian Football Club players, David Gray and Lewis Stevenson. Billy, Hannah's father, had arranged the surprise for the couple who are huge Hib's fans.
After dinner, the guests and bridal party danced until the early hours with music from Brotherman.
On Sunday, most of the guests and family members met at the Black Ivy Hotel in Edinburgh for food and drinks. Again, we were there to capture the event and a few sore heads didn't stop the party continuing!
Here are a couple of the films we captured from the wonderful weekend.
